Photography contracts: clauses worth including

Deposit, number of photos delivered, deadlines, usage rights and rescheduling, written clearly to avoid disputes.

Scope of work

State the duration, location, number of photographers, minimum number of photos delivered and the delivery format (edited photos, originals).

Deposit and payment

Deposit percentage, payment due dates and consequences of late payment. Collect deposits through a payment link so there is a clear record.

Rescheduling and cancellation

Fees for rescheduling or last-minute cancellation, and force-majeure conditions such as storms or illness.

Delivery deadline

A concrete number for the selection gallery and for finished photos. Clients dislike 'as soon as possible' more than anything.

Usage rights

Whether you may post to your portfolio and whether the client may use photos commercially. Ask and record it from the start.

Storage
